Cada vez estoy más convencido de que, si Roland Barthes hubiera asistido en alguna ocasión a un concierto de hardcore, no hubiera podido evitar estudiarlo con la lupa de la semiología general.Todo en el hardcore es convención, cliché, coreografía.


Los míticos Sick Of It All ironizan al respecto en el video de su clásico Step Down. Es curioso, puesto que la letra de la canción sigue los cánones de la retórica hardcore:

"In the underground, integrity lies within
in the underground, image doesn't mean a thing
when the substance lacks it's plain for all to see
if the deal is right then respect is where it should be.

For the fakes and frauds it's a fucking fashion show
